Defibrillator in black carry case. Even if you’re not sure whether someone’s heart has stopped, you cannot do any harm as the defibrillator’s spoken voice will tell you exactly what to do.

IMPORTANT The shop defibrillator is suitable for anyone over the age of 8. For children aged 1-8 the defibrillators outside the football pavilion, (accessible 24 hours) and in the school office (when open) are both suitable. For babies under one, refer to the St John Ambulance website ‘How to do CPR on a baby (under one year old)’

Bleed Control Kit in red pouch to help stop a catastrophic bleed due to e.g. a road traffic accident, an attack, or an incident in the home or workplace.

Be prepared – think about what you would do in an emergency where any of the above kit might be needed

• get professional help – always call 999 before doing anything

• do you know your postcode and ‘what3words’ location? You might not easily recall these in an emergency

• who might you enlist to help – others in the household or workplace, a neighbour, a passer by, or one of the people named below *

• the helper can e.g. fetch equipment, guide in the ambulance from the roadside

• the ambulance service will stay on the phone and talk you through what you need to do

If any of the kit is collected, whether it is used or not, please inform either Lyn or Richard (numbers below) as soon as possible after the event. We have to liaise with the ambulance service and make sure everything is ready for use again.

*These people are not trained first aiders but if available are willing to be called as potential helpers if you are on your own.
