Wellington W.I. – Herefordshire
We are a friendly group of women who meet regularly to learn and have fun together as Wellington W.I.
We meet at 7.30pm on the first Tuesday of every month in the Community Centre, except January when we share an annual lunch together later in the month and July or August when we have an outing.
Visitors are very welcome at £5 to include refreshments. Members pay an annual fee, set by National and receive a programme of meetings for the year which includes the opportunity to share outings and events with all the other W.I.s in Herefordshire and beyond! Monthly information is received via e-mail and includes craft groups, trips to the theatre, shops and exhibitions etc.
We support local WI events and village events such as the Fun Week-“Party in the Park” and the church Christmas tree festival.
We raise funds for charities too, recently The Little Princess fund, Hereford Food Bank, Motor Neurone Disease, Air Ambulance and more!
Our Institute is led by a small Committee which includes President, Secretary and Treasurer. Members help to do publicity, provide refreshments and organise raffle prizes and so help make decisions to determine speakers and trips etc. Before our guest speaker we have a short business meeting to update and share information and vote for campaign and resolution decisions etc.
Our talk lasts for approximately an hour, including questions, then we have refreshments. We also have a raffle and competition entries which are linked to the topic of the evening.
We DO NOT necessarily make jam or bake cakes! We are a mix of women who have enquiring minds and enjoy each other’s company.
Why not come and find out what Wellington W.I. are all about!
